Focus on YOUR good things and not on OTHER people

I’ve had a blog for 5 months.  No I haven’t made any money, no I don’t have a huge following, no I don’t have a huge email list.  I don’t have any of things that are seen as successful in this space.  It would be so easy to just give it up.  And some days I want to.  But then I remember if I don’t compare myself to what others have done, then I have so much to feel good about:

  1. I have a blog (I never ever thought I would do this – I believed I couldn’t write and I believed I was bad with technology)
  2. My beliefs around writing and technology have changed – I have sorted out bluehost, wordpress, mailchimp and optin monster (I can talk the lingo!!!!! Giggles)
  3. I have written 53 posts in 5 months
  4. I have done 19 weekly videos
  5. I have had people from all these countries read my blog: Australia, UK, New Zealand, Brazil, Canada, Switzerland and Italy (this totally blows my mind)
  6. I have 13 people on an email list
  7. I have a coaching page and have started my coaching business
  8. I really enjoy what I learn from my clients – and the best feeling in the world is their a-ha moments when they have a big breakthrough.

All this in only 5 months.  Why on earth would I compare myself to people that have been doing this for years?  It’s like setting yourself up for failure.  Setting yourself up to feel terrible.  You can’t climb Mt Everest in a night.  I firmly believe things will continue to grow and my life will get closer and closer to my dreams.  My heart is filled with joy.  Don’t forget to pat yourself on the back for your greatness.  You ARE doing great things.  Don’t compare yourself to others – we all have different journeys and we just need to keep taking steps in the right direction and we will move forward.  To me, that’s all that matters right now.
Be kind to yourself.
